Additional Guest Columnists announced @ HospitalityEducators.com


HospitalityEducators.com has become the #1 website for independent hotel owners and managers, with almost 2,000 resources already available to members.  The service, which launched in July of 2010, serves both branded and independent hotel operators and has membership and readers from all six continents and more than 40 countries.

Professor Sonja Holverson  SONJA HOLVERSON, MBA, HEC University of Lausanne, faculty member at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) teaching hospitality marketing, researching, and writing, began her two plus decade long career in hospitality and tourism at the University of Hawaii where she obtained her BA in Fine Arts & Art History. Her diverse professional background in Hawaii, California and Switzerland in sales and marketing, included positions with hotels, restaurants, tour operators, travel agencies, incentive travel companies, and cruise lines. She has presented and published research on hotel branding and independent lifestyle hotels at conferences in Switzerland, Dubai and the US and has taught executive hospitality courses on Hotel Branding and Sales and Communication at EHL and in Shanghai and Xiamen, China.

A Failte Ireland Marketing Business Advisor and Mentor, Conor is also a member of The Marketing Institute and a Mentor to several Enterprise Boards.

As a workshop facilitator, he guides participants towards their strengths and is intensely aware of the trust clients place in him, he rewards that trust with integrity, care and meticulousness.

An expert mentor, facilitator and motivator, his career started out in Kilkenny Design and prior to founding Conor Kenny & Assoc, he was Group Business Development Director for the Irish Pub Company and McNally Design International. He has worked directly with many of the world’s leading brands; Baileys, Guinness, Hennessy, Tullamore Dew and Smirnoff, and leading International hotel groups and casino groups in Las Vegas and in the UK have called on his expertise. In 2002 he founded Conor Kenny & Assoc. Today, Conor and his team are advising many businesses in the service sector as well as working with several State sponsored companies.

Conor, a passionate teacher and writer, is a regular contributor to numerous business publications at home and abroad. He is also a frequent conference speaker, nationally and internationally, and has written key speeches for industry leaders.  In 2009 he became a syndicated columnist for several global industry websites including Cornell University.  In 2010 he was asked to write a monthly managent column for the UK’s leading hospitality website hotelindustry.co.uk.
